NAMM CES MACWORLD etc

NAMM I've always thought it was odd that the month after the holiday buying season is over, the new products for the next year are announced.
NAMM is still a couple days away. However we already have seen leaks for much of what we expect to debut on the floor. Moog's response to Arturia's Minibrute is the Sub Phatty. Essentially a knobbed up phatty, minus the LCD menu display. It has a few neat features, like a Roland style sub-osc and a drive feature that I imagine will obviate teh necessity of patching teh output to the input with a y cord to get that sound. It further extends Moog's move away from the black front panel look, though it otherwise looks quite like a Phatty and a Taurus 3 hybrid. Note to Moog, when are yall gonna come out with a step sequencer son? Don't make me go to Germany to get my sequence on! You are the most popular purveyor of CV gear in the world. Yet you discontinued the MP201 and sell no other device that generates useful sequences or LFOs. (I have some excellent ideas on how to re-purpose some of your other gear's innards in an off the shelf fashion, call me! kthxbai ).
Macworld Why bother? Last year I was pretty disgusted with Macworld/iWorld. I am used to going to trade conventions where the booth minders are engineers or owners of the companies. Not sales people trying to push product. Besides, not a single booth had any great deals OR any great tech. It was just a bunch of ipod and ipad cases at unspectacular prices. From now on I'll just pay attention to CES. That is where the real geek candy is.
